The Journal

A day in my kitchen.

From the first quiet bowl to the final flower.

6 minute read

Dear Friend,

People imagine my days are full of noise and flour and rushing. In truth, they are some of the quietest hours I know.

Come and spend one with me.

It starts early, before the world is really awake. A cup of tea, the window open, and the first bowl of the day. There is a stillness to those first hours that I have come to treasure.

The quietest hours are always the most creative ones.
I do not simply make cakes. I spend my days folding care into them.

By afternoon the light has changed and the flowers are going on, one at a time. And then, always, that final pause, when I step back, look at what the day has made, and hope it brings someone joy.

With love,
