Dear Friend,
Every cake that leaves my kitchen carries a small envelope tucked quietly beside it. Inside is a note I have written by hand, just for you.
It began years ago, and I have never once stopped.
There is something about ink on paper that a printed label can never hold. It slows me down. It makes me think of the family who will gather, the person being celebrated, the reason this cake exists at all.

“The smallest gestures are often the ones we keep forever.”
People tell me they keep the cards long after the cake is gone. Pressed into books, pinned to fridges, folded into memory boxes. That is the part that moves me most, that a few honest lines can outlast the celebration itself.
